What is the Structure for Six Sigma Training and requirments for Certification? |
|
|
A participant is only eligible for the White Belt Certificate when he/she has attended both the BLI-W and the QLI-W courses, completed the project and compiled the log.
Holders of the White Belt certificates can go on to do their Green Belts. The QLI Green Belt focuses on statistical run charts and provides for more advanced management tools and their application on a more complex team project. The Behavioral Green Belt training includes aspects of communication and creativity.
The completion of both QLI-G and BLI-G, together with the completion of the log and the project will qualify participants for a Green Belt certificate.
Once the Green Belt levels are achieved participants are eligible for Black Belt training. The Black Belt training consists of advanced statistical and management tools that have to be applied on improving a critical business area with a significant impact on the bottom line. Atleast two projects must be completed for certification.
A Black Belt certification can also be accredited through the fast track route. In this case participants are selected (based on a criteria given ahead) and nominated by the plant heads to undergo a 4 week training program over a period of 6 months. The validity of the Black Belt certificate is subsequently subject to an two year renewal. |

Who are Hub trainers? What is the selection criteria for a hub trainer? |
|
|
Hub trainers are facilitators that contribute in accelerating the training execution
in their hubs after undergoing an instructor's training program. They are selected on the basis of their technical knowledge and expertise.
All hub trainers are required to go through a process of certification. The process consists of a three-phase 'Train the Trainer' module that works as below:
" Phase 1: Trainer sits as a 'Trainee' while the master trainer is taking the program
" Phase 2: Trainer sits as an 'Observer' while the master trainer is taking the program
" Phase 3: Trainer conducts the program while the master trainer sits as an Observer
If the trainer completes the three phases of training successfully, the trainer is certified as a Hub Trainer for that particular module. The performance of the Hub Trainer as well as the regular trainers are monitored using Training Effectiveness parameters. |

Why do We need multiple initiatives for the group? |
|
|
The accelerating pace of change in both the context and the dynamics of business during the past decade has meant that we can no longer accurately view the future as a linear extension of the past. It is therefore unrealistic to attempt to improve an ongoing business by looking at it from a single viewpoint, as this is bound to result in a skewed outlook of reality.
It is with this in view, that the corporate training strategy has been based on considering multiple viewpoints for improving an ongoing business process.
